Welcome to the Birds 2014 was conducted by BirdLife international Cambodia Programme at Beoung Prek Lampouv (BPL). The main purposes of this programme were: i) to welcome to new year arrival of Sarus Crane which regularly use this site in the November of years; ii) Introduce the important of wetland ecosystem services for local communities livelihood improvement and biodiversity; iii) to introduce the impact of hazardous agriculture (chemical fertilizers and pesticide use)on wetland ecology and conservation area; iv) to encourage local communities, local authorities and university students love nature and integrate with conservation through participate bird watching and birds identification
