Dr. Frederica Perera - Environment and Health

In this episode, WiGH interviews Dr. Frederica Perera, a professor and researcher at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. Her research focuses on using biomarkers and risk assessment techniques to investigate how environmental exposures to toxic chemicals and air pollutants can impact health, particularly child development. As the director of the Columbia Center for Children’s Environmental Health and the founder of the Healthy Home Healthy Child Education Campaign, Dr. Perera's work has given her a unique insight into the interactions between genes and the environment.
