[Lecture] Pursuing Sustainability: Environmental and Financial Leadership in Tokyo by Yuriko Koike
In December 2016, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government formulated a new comprehensive four-year plan called “New Tokyo. New Tomorrow. The Action Plan for 2020". The Action Plan charts the course to the future to create the “New Tokyo†by realizing the three new faces of our city, “Safe Cityâ€, Diversity (“Diverse Cityâ€) and “Smart City†of Tokyo from the perspective of placing the Tokyo citizens first. A “Smart City†is a vibrant city that keeps growing, a city open to the world, a city leading the world in environmental policies, and a global financial and economic center.
In this lecture, The Honorable Yuriko Koike would like to introduce the policies and activities to be what we called “Environmental and Global Financial City Tokyoâ€, one of the goals of “Smart Cityâ€.
